The scales are now a welcome addition to our contemporary looking 1950’s shaker style kitchen. A solid product with instruction manuals in German; Spanish; Italian and English!
The aftersales look in order, however I haven’t made use of the customer support service at the time of writing this review. Online and distance selling rules seemed to be adhered to by AccuWeight, which made me feel confident and gave me peace of mind before deciding to buy this product.
Two AAA batteries are conveniently included in the price we paid (£8.87) so the product is instantly usable. Wait no longer and buy this baby. The price is a steal! =)
Pro’s:

Pros:
Accurate and Consistent Measurements: The ACCUWEIGHT 201 consistently delivers accurate measurements, allowing for precise ingredient quantities in recipes. This level of accuracy is essential, especially in baking where precision is paramount.
Easy-to-Read Display: The clear LCD display is easily readable, even in low-light conditions. The large digits make it simple to take measurements quickly and efficiently.
Tare Functionality: The tare function is a game-changer when using multiple ingredients in one container. It allows me to reset the scale to zero after each ingredient is added, streamlining the measuring process.
Sleek and Durable Design: The tempered glass surface not only adds a touch of elegance to the kitchen but also provides a durable and easy-to-clean platform. The scale’s sleek design makes it a stylish addition to any kitchen countertop.
Auto-Off Feature: The auto-off feature helps conserve battery life, ensuring that the scale is ready for use when needed. This thoughtful design contributes to the scale’s overall efficiency.
Cons:
Limited Weight Capacity: While the scale is ideal for most kitchen tasks, its weight capacity may be limiting for larger items or bulk ingredients. For those needing to weigh heavier loads, a higher-capacity scale may be more suitable.

Slight niggles are that it seems a little sluggish compared to my old one – takes a little bit longer to turn on and initialise before it’s ready for use, and also when I add ingredients I have to be patient and allow a slight wait for the reading to settle as it doesn’t quite seem to respond in real time. I also find that if I add a certain amount of whatever food, when I spread it evenly the weight reading changes by a gram or two, but the same happened on my old scales. Finally, it’s also a bit slow to power off automatically so I’m not sure how long the batteries will last, although I can turn it off manually if I remember (by holding the power button for a few seconds).
The display visibility is good as it’s illuminated (though I wondered if it should dim to save battery when there’s no movement for a while?) and it’s easier to read than my old one when there’s a large bowl on top. I’m also glad it takes AAA batteries instead of button cells (personal preference). Overall, reasonably happy with it so far – I just hope it proves reliable.
